Qing Dynasty museum quality mandarin ladies silk jacket superbly embroidered on black satin silk. Taoist symbols embroidered with gold couching are the lotus pod, the sword, and staff and gourd. The baskets and vases of flowers are also Taoist symbols worked with superb satin stitch and the finest forbidden stitch, the tiniest knots that I have ever seen on a jacket. The sky blue damask sleeve bands also worked with peonies embroidered in forbidden stitch. The lishui wave border worked in satin stitch with peonies in the waves embroidered in forbidden stitch. A further border on the hem of back satin with a smaller echoing the main part of the jacket of Taoist symbols. Fastened with three gold brass buttons.

Ivory silk sleeve bands worked with pomegranates and lemons. The jacket field and sleeves worked with medallions of flowers. The Mandarin square rank badge on the women’s jacket shows the husband's court position which is an egret, denoting the husband is a sixth rank civil servant. The egret flies above the lishui wave border in a sky of clouds and a red sun. The jacket fastened with five gold brass carved small buttons.
